Predictive Census Modeling for Future Risk Assessment
A regional risk assessment firm partnered with Corebix to enhance their heat map tools by forecasting future census demographics for counties across the U.S. Using census data from 2014 to 2023, Corebix cleaned and merged various datasets to train a machine learning model with XGBoost on Azure Machine Learning. The model predicts key metrics such as age, employment, and labor force participation at both the state and tract level. After training, the model was deployed as a live endpoint accessible via API. A C# application was developed to send prediction requests, normalize the results, and save them in CSV format for visualization. The solution enables counties to receive accurate, forward-looking demographic data to support proactive risk assessment and planning.[read more]
